About Elena

Born in Athens, Ohio, and raised in many places, Elena developed an early passion for the beauty world and connecting with people. Her mother is from Spain so she grew up learning the language. These interests led her to pursue studies in Strategic Communications with a minor in Spanish at Oklahoma State University.

Elena spent four years as a beauty advisor in Dallas, Texas before university. Though she loved working directly with clients, Elena ultimately realized her interest was in public relations, specifically beauty PR. Her background in the beauty industry provided insights into consumer perspectives while affirming her desire to advocate for brands through strategic storytelling.

Currently, Elena is excelling in her studies at OSU while involved extensively on campus. She has served as Fundraising Leader for the National Student Advertising Competition and is now on the writing team. Elena is also a member of the Strategic Communications Club, contributing to the social media team efforts. Her membership extends to associations like the Association of Women in Communications.

Additionally, Elena was chosen as a journalist for the 2023 NPR Next Generation Indigenous Project and published work for 12volt News. She has remained on the Dean’s Honor Roll for three consecutive years. Outside of school, she is a social media intern for a local oral surgery practice.

As graduation nears, Elena is mapping out plans to pursue her master’s degree in mass communications, eager to build her expertise as a creative PR strategist. She believes that a strong passion for something, combined with creativity are the keys to success.
